Why Families Choose oakrootad

Clarity Where It Matters Most

Purely Organisational

We sort, label, and index. We never offer legal advice, valuations, or representation — those steps belong with the qualified professionals we point you toward.

Sensitive & Unhurried

Succession matters often arise during difficult times. Every session moves at your pace, with a calm and respectful approach that acknowledges what families are carrying.

Your Records, Your Control

Nothing leaves your hands without your knowledge. We work with your original documents; you keep every piece. Our role is to help you see the full picture clearly.

Plain English Explanations

Legal and administrative language can feel remote when you are already stressed. We translate concepts into straightforward, everyday words so you can make sense of the landscape.

Clear Signposting Onward

When steps require a licensed professional — a notary, a legal adviser, a district office — we provide a clear and specific guide so you know exactly where to turn next.

Grounded in Chiang Mai

Based on Nimmanhaemin Road, we understand the local context — Thai administrative processes, local offices, and the specific documents families here typically need to organise.

Ready to Bring Order to Your Family's Records?

Whether you are starting from a pile of unsorted papers or would simply like to understand how succession processes generally work, oakrootad offers a calm, structured path forward.

Common Questions

What Families Often Ask

What exactly does oakrootad do — and what do you not do?
oakrootad is an organisational and educational service. We help families sort and label their documents, build inventory lists, record personal wishes, and understand general succession concepts. We do not provide legal advice, valuations, representation, or any form of financial guidance. For those steps, we refer you to the appropriate licensed professionals.
Do my original documents stay with me?
Yes, always. You retain full possession of everything. We work with your documents during a session to help create a clear inventory and labelling system, but nothing is taken away or copied without your explicit permission. Your records remain entirely in your hands.
Can oakrootad tell me what my estate is worth or who inherits what?
No. Questions about valuations, entitlements, and legal outcomes require a licensed professional — typically a lawyer and potentially a registered valuer. These areas sit firmly outside what oakrootad does. We will, however, help you identify which type of professional you need and point you toward the relevant official bodies.
How long does a session typically take?
A Document Inventory Session usually runs two to three hours depending on the volume of records. The Succession Concepts Class is a structured half-day session of around three hours. The Complete Archive & Wishes Programme is delivered across multiple meetings and is tailored to your family's pace and schedule.
Who should attend the Succession Concepts Class?
The class is open to any adult who wants a clearer understanding of how estate organisation and succession processes generally work. It suits individuals beginning to think about their own affairs, as well as adult children helping an older parent bring their records into order. No prior knowledge is assumed.
What language are sessions conducted in?
Sessions are available in English. We work with many expatriate families and international residents in Chiang Mai. Please contact us if you have specific language requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions typically take place at our office on Nimmanhaemin Road, Chiang Mai, which provides a private and comfortable setting. Home visits within Chiang Mai can be arranged for families where travelling is difficult. Please mention this when you get in touch.
