1. About oakrootad

oakrootad is an organisational and educational service based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We help families sort, label, and inventory their own documents; provide informational classes on estate and succession concepts; and support the creation of personal archives and written wishes records. We are not a law firm, financial advisory, or regulated professional service.

2. Our Services

The services available from oakrootad are:

Document Inventory Session — a structured session to sort, label, and inventory a family's own records. No valuation, legal advice, or representation is provided. The family retains full custody of all documents.
Succession Concepts Class — an informational group or one-to-one class explaining how estate and succession processes generally work, the documents typically involved, and which official bodies and licensed professionals handle steps that require them. No individual case is reviewed.
Complete Archive & Wishes Programme — a supported package helping families compile records into an indexed archive and write down personal wishes for safekeeping. We organise and record; we never advise on asset values or entitlements.

Specific inclusions, session lengths, and deliverables for each service are confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

3. Limitations of Our Services

By engaging oakrootad, you acknowledge and accept the following limitations:

oakrootad does not provide legal advice of any kind.
oakrootad does not provide financial, tax, accounting, or investment advice.
oakrootad does not value assets, property, or estates.
oakrootad does not represent individuals before any court, government body, or regulatory authority.
oakrootad does not act as an executor, trustee, power of attorney, or in any fiduciary capacity.
oakrootad does not make assessments or predictions about legal outcomes, entitlements, or inheritance rights.

Where a matter requires a licensed professional, oakrootad will clearly indicate this and may be able to suggest categories of professional to seek. Any such signposting is informational only and does not constitute a referral or endorsement.

4. Bookings and Payments

Making a Booking

Bookings are confirmed in writing by oakrootad following receipt of a completed enquiry and any applicable deposit. A booking is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us.

Pricing

All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are confirmed at the time of booking and are not subject to change after written confirmation.

Deposits and Payment

Deposit and payment terms will be set out in your booking confirmation. Full payment is generally required before a session or class begins unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

Cancellation by the Client

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Our cancellation terms, including any deposit forfeiture conditions, will be set out in your booking confirmation. We will always try to accommodate changes where reasonable notice is given.

Cancellation by oakrootad

In the unlikely event that oakrootad must cancel a confirmed session, we will contact you promptly and offer a rescheduled date or a full refund of any amounts paid.

5. Confidentiality

All information shared during sessions — including the nature of your records, family circumstances, and personal wishes — is treated as strictly confidential by oakrootad. We do not share session content externally except as required to produce the agreed written outputs for you, or as required by law. 6. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate information when making a booking and during sessions
Bring only documents and records that you own or have the right to share
Ensure that engaging oakrootad's services does not conflict with any legal obligation or court order you are subject to
Seek appropriately licensed professional advice for matters that fall outside our scope
Treat oakrootad staff with respect during all interactions

7. Intellectual Property

All written materials, class content, session frameworks, and website content produced by oakrootad remain the intellectual property of oakrootad unless explicitly transferred in writing. Written outputs produced specifically for you during a session (such as your completed inventory or wishes record) belong to you once full payment has been received.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use oakrootad's course or class materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law:

oakrootad is not liable for any loss or consequence arising from reliance on information provided in our sessions or classes, including decisions made in relation to estates, succession, or family financial matters.
oakrootad is not liable for any loss arising from a failure to seek appropriate licensed professional advice.
Our total liability to you in connection with any service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

The content on this website is provided for general information purposes only. While we take care to keep it accurate and up to date, we make no representation that it is complete or current. You should not rely on website content as a substitute for professional advice relevant to your specific circumstances.
